Douro Valley Hike: through villages

This stunning full-day hiking tour starts at the historical village of Sabrosa (with connections with the portuguese navigator, Magellen) and the vistas vary from the small villages and towns scattered around the surrounding hills, such as Sanfins do Douro, Vilarinho de São Romão and Provesende, to the terraced slopes of the Pinhão and Douro valleys and the farms and wine estates. 

You’ll have the opportunity to cross authentic villages, filled with examples of traditional architecture, and observe small-scale agricultural practices in the neighboring plots of land. 

At the middle of the tour we take a break for a wine tasting at a wine estate and lunch at a small, family owned restaurant. Here we celebrate the traditional Portuguese cuisine.

And finally, at the last part of the tour, you will explore with your guide the western slopes of the Pinhão Valley as you descend to the village of São Cristóvão and to the Pinhão village, your last destination.
