Óbidos is a nice place to stop when moving from Lisbon to Porto. There is plenty to see and taste. Ginja liqueur is one of the delicacies they have to offer.

Ginjas were always very cherished in different regions of Portugal. What we see being done here in Estremadura is something that in Douro was very alive, specially years ago. The same traditional processes are found in the north of Spain, for example in Bierzo.

When in Douro, we, at Douro Walks, will be very pleased to introduce you to our cherry trees. Coming in the right time, there will be the opportunity to taste them from the tree. In any other moment, there´s the chance to try the jam or the dipped ones in brandy, a special thing for a special moment.
